Estate Sale & Garage Sale Reseller App for iPhone (2026)
If you go to estate sales, garage sales, and yard sales to find things to resell — FlipperHelper is the iPhone app built for that workflow. It logs each find with a photo, tracks listings across eBay, Poshmark, Depop, Mercari, and 12+ other platforms, and shows your real profit after fuel and platform fees.
The same app handles every source you flip from: estate sales, garage sales, yard sales, car boot sales, charity shops, thrift stores, antiques fairs, flea markets. One tracker for all of it.
Why estate sale flipping needs a dedicated tracker
Estate sale weekends are intense. Up at 5am for the first sale, three or four sales by lunchtime, sorting through boxes in a stranger's garage. By Sunday evening you've spent maybe $80 on fuel, hit five sales, picked up forty items. And you have no idea which sale was actually worth going to.
What you need:
- Fast logging at the sale — photo + price + which sale it came from, in seconds
- Per-sale grouping — so you can see which estate sales actually made you money
- Fuel and time tracking — driving to four sales eats real money
- Multi-platform listing tracking — flippers usually cross-list across eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Facebook Marketplace
- Real profit math — after platform fees, shipping, and sourcing costs
- Offline support — many estate sales are in older homes with poor cell signal
How FlipperHelper handles estate sales and garage sales
At the sale
Open the app, snap a photo, enter the price you paid. Choose the sale from your saved list — or create a new one. Done in under ten seconds. Photos store locally first; they sync to Google Drive when you have signal again.
Tracking each sale separately
Save each estate sale as a market — by address, by family name, by date. The dashboard groups items and profit by sale. Open the dashboard on Sunday night and see: the Smith estate sale produced $240 net, the church yard sale produced $18 net, the Saturday garage sale on Maple Street produced negative $12 once you account for fuel.
Fuel and trip costs
Add a transport expense after each sourcing day — car (with mileage), taxi, or other. The dashboard subtracts this from your gross profit. Many flippers skip this step and overestimate their hourly rate by 30–50%.
Listing across platforms
Tap the item, toggle each platform you list it on: eBay, Poshmark, Depop, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Vinted, Etsy, OfferUp, and more. The app records the listing date for each platform. Mark items sold when they sell, enter the sale price. The dashboard shows days-to-sell, profit per item, and which platforms close fastest for which categories.
How FlipperHelper compares to other estate sale tracking apps
ResellTrackr, Profit Prophet, ResellJoy, Resellr
These are smaller cross-platform profit-tracker apps with overlapping core features. They each handle the basic per-item profit math. Differentiators between them tend to be: how the dashboard presents data, what platforms are supported, and how deep the expense tracking goes. FlipperHelper's specific edges for estate sale flippers: per-trip transport tracking, GPS auto-suggest of the right sale, photo-first logging, and full Google Sheets export.
Stoqit, TrackBuySell
Inventory-management style apps — built around stock control rather than the sourcing-to-sale workflow. Useful if you have a warehouse and bulk inventory; less useful if you're sourcing piecemeal at estate sales.
Flippd, Vendoo (cross-listers)
Cross-listers push the same listing to multiple platforms. They solve the listing problem, not the tracking problem. Estate sale items are usually one-of-a-kind, so cross-listing automation matters less than fast accurate tracking.
Spreadsheets
You can do all of this in Google Sheets, and many flippers start there. The friction is mobile data entry — typing on a phone in a stranger's garage at 6:30am kills consistency. A typical reseller switches off spreadsheets within six months. FlipperHelper exports to Google Sheets, so the spreadsheet view is still there if you want it for tax or analysis.
What FlipperHelper doesn't do
- iPhone only. No Android, no web app yet. iCloud backup is built in.
- No automatic sales import. You mark items sold manually after the platform notifies you.
- No barcode scanning. If you mostly flip retail products with barcodes, sourcing tools like ScoutIQ are better for the sourcing decision step.
- No team / multi-user mode. Single seller, single device with iCloud backup.
FAQ
Can I use it for yard sales as well as estate sales?
Yes. Yard sales, garage sales, and estate sales all work the same way in the app — save each as a market, log items as you buy. The terms are interchangeable.
What about car boot sales and jumble sales?
Same — the app was originally built for UK car boot sales, and the workflow translates directly to US estate and garage sales. Many users source from a mix of all of them.
Is there a free version?
The core app is free with no ads. A paid tier with eBay API integration is planned.
How do I avoid losing data if I lose my phone?
iCloud backup is automatic and built in. A new iPhone restores your full dataset. Photos additionally back up to your own Google Drive if you sign in. The app does not require any account to function.
